About Us
The Chin Community began arriving in Indianapolis in the early 2000s, fleeing military dictatorship in Burma (Myanmar). Adjusting to a new environment brought significant challenges, prompting community members to support one another in meeting basic social and human needs. In response, the Chin Community of Indiana (CCI) was established by the local Chin churches on November 25, 2001, to help our community navigate resettlement and integrate into local society.
Since then, our population has grown to over 35,000 as of 2023. After nearly two decades of dedicated service within the Chin community, CCI expanded its support in 2020 to include neighbors and other immigrant and refugee communities across Indianapolis.

Immunization Clinic with Kroger

Our annual Immunization Clinic is back! This year, we will be partnering with Kroger to provide immunizations for our community. Please arrive on time and be mindful that supplies are limited.

Safe Sitter Essentials with CPR Class Chin Community Center
We will partner with the Marion County Public Health Department to offer a free Safe Sitter Essentials with CPR class for students in Grades 6–8. Students will learn important safety, babysitting, and emergency response skills and will receive a certificate upon completion. Space is limited, so please contact the CCI office to register.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are partnering with Firefly Children & Family Alliance to provide information and resources to our community. Firefly will join us to share free and confidential support services, answer questions, and connect individuals and families with available resources.

As one of the highly to assist individuals and families in achieving self-sufficiency by providing support and resources to help them secure and maintain stable employment that provides a reliable source of income and benefits.

Health & Social Services
The Health & Social Services department assists families and individuals in improving their quality of life through provision of access to health care, social services, advocacy and by fostering connections to providers of health care and social services.
